The short version
Time Study is an iPhone app from Talented LLC. It does not require an account. Your transcripts stay on your device unless you choose to share them. For new check-ins, audio is removed after a transcript is saved. We do not sell your personal data or use the app to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Your check-ins
Time Study stores transcripts, check-in times, reminder settings, and related app data locally on your iPhone. For new check-ins, it saves audio while transcription is pending or has failed, then deletes the audio after the transcript is saved. Recordings from earlier app versions may remain until you delete those check-ins. Talented does not receive your audio or transcripts. You can edit a transcript, delete a check-in and any retained recording, or choose to share retained audio or an exported JSON and CSV file. A copy you share is handled by the service or person you select.
Microphone, speech recognition, and notifications
The app asks for microphone access when you record and speech-recognition access when you transcribe. It uses Apple's Speech service. Depending on your device, language, and connection, Apple may process audio to create a transcript; when supported, the app can also try on-device recognition. If transcription fails or you deny speech access, your saved recording remains on your iPhone until Retry succeeds or you delete the check-in. Notifications are local reminders scheduled for the active hours you set.
Anonymous product analytics
Time Study uses PostHog to understand app use and reliability. Events may include a randomly generated app identifier, app and iOS versions, device model, screen size, feature actions, approximate recording-duration ranges, and error or permission categories. They do not include audio, transcripts, check-in IDs, filenames, names, email addresses, or precise location. PostHog receives normal network connection information when the app sends an event; we disable IP-based location enrichment in the event request. The app does not use advertising identifiers or Meta advertising measurement.
